The EKSPATS is an animated clash of cultures dramedy TV series of an all-American family that relocates to Nigeria.

Bill Diamond, an earnest and unappreciated business consultant is given a career-saving opportunity that takes him and his sheltered all-American family to Nigeria.

We join the Diamonds on their journey as their minds and hearts open to the people, the culture, and the privileged family of the Nigerian tycoon, Solomon Babatunde, who hired Bill’s firm. Later, Solomon elevates Bill’s assignment to recommend a successor for the Babatunde family business empire.

RON MYRICK

Executive Producer / Animation Director

LA based Ron Myrick is an animation industry veteran with a career spanning over forty years. He is an animator, director, writer, and producer, who has worked for Hanna-Barbera, Mattel, Filmation, Disney Television Animation and Warner Bros. Animation. Some of his latest projects currently streaming on Netflix include “Barbie: Big City, Big Dreams,” “Barbie Mermaid Power,” and the documentary series “How to Be a Tyrant,” “How to Become a Cult Leader,” and “How to Become a Mob Boss.” He has also worked on the Amazon adult-themed, animated superhero series “Invincible.” Other works includes “Avengers: United They Stand,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Skylanders,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “The Smurfs,” “Star Trek: The Animated Series,” “Fat Albert,” “Scooby-Doo.” “The Adams Family,” “Garfield and Friends,” and so much more.

Ron was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Los Angeles where he currently resides.

ADEBISI ADETAYO

3D Animation Director

Lagos based Adebisi Adetayo is founder and director of 32ad Animation Studios. He directed Nigeria’s first cinematic feature-length animated film, “Lady Buckit and the Motley Mopsters,” which was an official selection at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2021 and won best animation at the Africa Movie Academy Awards that year.

MBUOTIDEM JOHNSON

2D Animation Director

Lagos based Mbuotidem Johnson is founder and director of Basement Animation Studio. He directed “Halima’s Vote,” a short-animated film of a book by the same name. The film was an official selection at FESPACO Film Festival in 2021 and won best animation at the African Film Impact Awards. It was supported by the MacArthur Foundation.

ZIAD SALMAN ZOUEIHED

Executive Producer / Producer

New York based Ziad Salman Zoueihed was born in England, raised between England and Nigeria, and is of Lebanese origin. He is an executive producer of the award-winning Nigerian feature film “Eyimofe (This is my desire),” which had its world premier at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2020 and played at over thirty festivals in twenty countries. The film was acquired by Janus Films and Amazon. It is the first Nigerian film to be inducted to the world-renowned Criterion Collection.

Ziad spends his time between New York, Kano and Lagos.

He has an MBA from Columbia Business School.
